Serves meat, vegan options available. Typical Lebanese food menu with some freshly prepared dishes that are vegetable-based. Vegans to inquire. Reported closed, Jan 2018.
This quiet little restaurant in la ville nouvelle, was a great treat! We ordered the mezze combination platter for two (240 dhr), which came with a choice of eight different dishes from the mezze menu. The selection of vegan mezzes was quite big - easily at least two-thirds of the mezze choices. The food was really delicious!
Restaurant Beyrout turned out to be a bit of a surprise for us as it was almost next door the Hotel Caspien where we were staying. Lebanese restaurants always cater well for vegans and vegetarians and avoiding any fried items is an extra safeguard. Not much to look at from the outside and sporting some strange 'Happy New Year' greetings in late January, the inside was pleasantly eastern with colourful lanterns hanging from the ceilings.
We chose a selection of the starters and made up a meze which was all tasty and nicely presented. A continuous supply of bread made for a filling dinner, all washed down with some pleasant red wine and bottled water.
The prices were lower than you would expect to pay in the UK (and often as it turns out in Marrakech), so it helped the already stretched holiday budget.
Not sure why to hefty bouncers were needed outside the entrance, perhaps it was because it was licensed.
PS. Note that on 27 Jan 2013 the map shows Beyrout at the wrong location but the address shown is correct. I have let Happy Cow know.
