Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Can’t recommend it enough! - Edit
This is honestly one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating in. The staff was so friendly, the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great. I loved that being vegan didn’t stop me from being able to try traditional Czech cuisine and the waitress very kindly gave me some suggestions when I asked what she would recommend. They also have a wide selection of drinks both alcoholic and non- alcoholic and the prices are so reasonable. I got a very big, hearty meal for just €8!!

Great vegan versions of traditional food! - Edit
Really great food, and nice to be able to try local cuisines we wouldn’t be able to try otherwise! We had the ‘beef’ goulash and the schnitzel which were delicious. Pretty cheap as well! Highly recommend.

This place never fails - Edit
Been a fan of this place for years. They used to be located in a smaller restaurant in Žižkov. Made it more difficult to get a table. Regardless of the old or new place, it has the same vibe. Calm. Long wooden tables. Great service.
Read moreYou get a lot of food for what you pay for. I am also a fan of the social project this restaurant stands for, to help people in dire and precarious situations. It is possible to donate money for a meal to a homeless person.

Cake was decent - Edit
I just came here for a snack, and had a matcha cake, which was much better than I expected it to be. However, the cake selection wasn't that impressive.

Vegan Fried Cheese! - Edit
This was an absolutely amazing restaurant! The selection of vegan ‘traditional’ Czech food was incredible. It was so difficult to choose what to have. I ended up ordering the fried cheese and it was delicious. All of the staff were wonderful, it’s such a friendly, welcoming place and it’s in a great location. I would highly recommend it and I will definitely go back the next time I am in Prague! Loved it!

Ristorante vegano con l’anima - Edit
Il locale è molto carino. Oltre al cibo buono ed economico mi ha colpito il fatto che questo ristorante sia un progetto sociale che aiuta le persone in difficoltà a reinserirsi. Attenzione agli animali, all’ambiente e alle persone. Cosa si può desiderare di più?

Classic Czech pub & restaurant, but vegan! - Edit
I used to go to the place when it was still in Žižkov. It was my favourite place near work, with a low-priced vegan lunch menu, friendly and hard-working service and good beer. I have to say the food was very good at the time, but I wouldn't say it was top notch. Subsequently, the place closed down and reappeared in downtown Prague 1. What they have done with the venue is just fabulous. A classic Czech pub, but everything is vegan? I'm not going to lie, I was more than impressed and not just because there aren't that many good places in the area.
Read moreAs for the place itself, the style of the place totally suits me. Big tables, great beer, service is sometimes slower but very diligent. The food is excellent. I like to come here for the burgers and beer which the place takes more than good care of. Sometimes I come here purely for a beer with friends. The place is really spacious. I come here really often and considering the prices, the food is great and there's hardly ever anything wrong.
I can only recommend Bistro Střecha to anyone who visits Prague and would like to try our traditional food. I would also like to point out their social program and employment and help to the needy. More businesses like this.

Servizio lento ma cotolette croccanti - Edit
Locale rustico e accogliente.

This is THE place - Edit
A spacious restaurant with vegan Czech cuisine. Food was very good. From the menu, I recommend haluszki (a huge portion) and non-duck. Also try some desserts. The lunch menu changes every week. The prices are very affordable and the service is nice and fast.

Romantic spot for vegans - Edit
When you walk in you see this is a well-designed and romantic cafe. It smells delicious, stimulating your appetite before you even sit down. The back area of seating extends to the back of the building and is at least twice as big as the front seating area, so if it looks at first like there is no place to sit, peek around the corner.
Read moreThe food is delicious. The goulash and dumplings dishes are especially nice.
The only drawback to this cafe is the noise. It is hard to hear your dinner companion talk over the sound of patron voices and noise from the bar echoing against the hard-surface walls, ceiling, and dining furniture. The cafe needs some soft surfaces to absorb the echoes. Also, the grunge/alternative music contributes to the unpleasant soundscape.
Pros: Delicious food, Beautiful space; Romantic lighting, Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: Space is loud and echoes, Grunge/Alternative music

Great location - Edit
Good vegan option for the city centre but unfortunately we found the food a little underwhelming. We had the 'duck' and the 'ribs' - ribs had a nice flavour but had a bread-like texture, we liked it the most out of what we tried. The 'duck' had little flavour and was quite bland. Cakes were very dry. Decent option for central prague though

Typical food and tavern - Edit
Nice food in a nice tavern with nice staff :)
Read moreI had knedliky, big balls stuffed on red cabbage, which I love but not hot. I usually buy sauerkraut and have it cold with salad, not used to hot one. The plate was huge, even though I had dessert, of course, and a beautiful salad to share at the beginning. I need gasoline for walking around the city. :)
Staff was very nice and patient with all our questions about the plates hehe
