Nice place and food - Edit
This restaurant is part of a hotel. So without knowing this we first struggled a bit findig it... but once you know it’s easy to find ;)
Read moreMake sure you’re hungry coz these portions will definitely fill your tummy!
Food was amazing and quality and size justified the prices. We’ve had the Pad Thai, Papaya salad and Burger. Thai food was very fresh & the papaya salad came with loads of cashews on top. Thai food was okay but not mind blowing... while the burger was very nice. Not too exciting when it comes to exotic sauces and toppings but I’ve never had such a nice mushroom patty before!
And the latte macchiato with coconut milk was a dream!
Cons: they have a fish pond around the area that’s way t

Nous y sommes allés 7 fois pour découvrir chaque fois un nouveau plat. Nous avons toujours été agréablement surpris. Aussi bien matin, midi et soir :) Le cadre est très beau. Lumières tamisées le soir, cosy, calme. On s'y plait beaucoup.

Best burger and fries ever! - Edit
It's been said, but I will say it again: go for the mushroom burger with the fries!
Read moreService is a bit slow so we had to wait quite a while for it, but it's amazing. My non-vegan boyfriend was very impressed as well.
I went back the next day to get the burger again, and I usually never eat this kind of stuff.
Pumpkinsoup is also highly recommended.
Restaurant is very cute, nice and relaxed dining.
My favourite place in Chiang Mai so far.
Pros: Burger and fries , Relaxed garden terras, Burger and fries
Cons: Slow service

Muy bonito lugar... - Edit

Good food, super slow service - Edit
I was looking forward to eating here with my wife based on all the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, the slow service and attitude of the staff ruined what could have been an amazing meal.
Read moreWe ordered our entire meal in one go with one lady who was nice and bubbly and looked like she took down our whole order on a notepad. It took a solid 10 minutes to get our drinks. About 20 minutes later another lady comes over and asks us to repeat our food order. This lady does not have a notepad, but we tell her everything we want which is not complicated. Another 20 minutes go by and we ask a third lady who has been going by our table to deliver food to other tables several times if our starters are coming soon. She goes off and comes back with the excuse that it is very busy and there are 2 other tables with orders before us. Not a big fan of excuses, so this was when we started getting grumpy. However, we just politely said ok thanks and continued waiting. We finally get our starters about 45 minutes after we ordered it and the mains came in at around 1 hour.
One more thing that kind of irked us was I had been considering ordering dessert as I saw some nice things on the menu, but as we were finishing our mains I noticed that our bill was already taped to the side of the table. Not sure who put it there, but I thought they should have at least asked us if we wanted the bill. This is the first time the bill has been delivered this way after being in Thailand for over two weeks.
We had the fresh spring rolls as a starter and it was pretty standard and good. Portion size was nice and the sauce was tasty. We both had the fettuccine with mushroom and cream sauce and this dish was amazing. If they added a bit more vegetables it would have been even better.
So I'm sure all the best reviews are from nights when the service was on point, but that wasn't the case when we went, which is unfortunate because it is a nice restaurant with a good vibe. With so many other good vegan restaurants around Chiang Mai I am not sure we will eat again at Reform Kafe for fear of receiving service like this again.
Pros: Good food, atmosphere, location
Cons: service

Dear veganairman,
Read moreThank you for taking the time to share your experience during your recent visit at our restaurant.
The slow service you experienced was due the fact that we have recently been much busier than expected during certain hours. We are currently hiring more staff and will limit the number of tables available when necessary during peak hours, so we can provide a speedier service.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and unusual slow service.
Thank you again for your feedback and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or comments.
Kind regards,

Loved everything but the food - Edit
Beautiful ambiance. Incredibly nice and accommodating staff. But the food was a let-down.
Read moreThe tom kha hed I ordered was well-seasoned, but the veggies were all a bit off: tomatoes and mushrooms were somewhat overcooked and soft, while the lemongrass was very, very woody. That's fine when it's cut into big chunks which you can avoid, but this stuff was finely cut. Between it and the bay leaves, I ended up discreetly spitting about a quarter of my soup into my napkin. Similarly, the green beans in a stir fry I ordered were quite chewy, not tender.
Maybe the quality of the ingredients was off for seasonal/crop reasons, and it wasn't the kitchen's fault. Or perhaps this is just something I'm not understanding about Thai cuisine? If so, apologies. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but this place had so many five-star plaudits, I figured I should throw in a dissenting voice. For my money, it's overrated.
Pros: Beautiful ambiance, Nice staff
Cons: Mediocre food for the price

One of Chiang Mai's most exciting developments - Edit
Reform was one of my favourite places to eat - I ate their Pad Thai, Khao Soi and Spaghetti Napoletana and it was all grand.
Read moreReform is attached to the Green Tiger Guesthouse, a vegetarian hotel. Consequently, it has a wonderful warm environment that's perfect for date night.
What really made this place special to me was chatting to Daniel, the owner. When I ordered an iced chocolate which was less than satisfactory, Daniel was thrilled to take my feedback on board. It was awesome to see customer feedback actually valued.
Later, I learned that Daniel was a lifelong vegetarian and has been vegan for 6 months (as of November 2017). In addition to having veganised Reform's menu, he's slowly working on veganising his vegetarian hotel as well. He came across as incredibly passionate and knowledgeable (we had a fascinating chat about Thailand's elephant tourism industry). I'm really excited to see where Daniel takes his passion and this business.

Wonderful! - Edit
The space is gorgeous -- open air, hanging colorful lanterns, air plants, fountains and a shop pup and kitty to pet :) Large menu with lots of options. We ordered the mushroom burger and WOW! HUGE and very, very good -- I'm not even a mushroom fan and they really nailed it, the texture and flavor were amazing! It came with fries that were perfect too. We also ordered pomodoro bruschetta which was SO fresh and delicious, the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and tasty. Finally we had the green tea leaf salad which was another very large portion and fantastic flavor. We had the 'red velvet' bottle of kombucha which really sealed the deal!

Tried this place out through my partner discovering it on a vegan food blog.
Read moreIt’s so good to have a place where you don’t need to worry about telling people your dietary requirements because it’s all vegan!
I had the Tom Yum Soup to start with and the Pad Thai to finish. My partner had a mushroom bruschetta and linguine puttanesca. All were absolutely delicious.
The menu is massive and there is so much to choose from.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the atmosphere is so chilled.
As with everything else with Chang Mai it was cheap as chips too.
This place is so good that I’m either going back today or tomorrow before I fly home. Highly recommended!

Lovely place good people great food - Edit
This place has a lovely athmosphere. The owners, a welcoming Thai/Swiss couple, are genuinely vegan out of compassion and seem to constantly work at perfecting their already wonderful menu. They offer Thai and western food no matter what your specifications are they are very flexible. They use pink Himalayan salt in their food now which I love too!

I can't recommend this place enough, the venue itself is super cute and the food is incredible! We had a papaya salad (was massive / 90 baht) and a mushroom burger with vegan mayo (150 baht). The menu is mostly all vegan and as it's not on a main road it wasn't crazy busy when we went.

Cracking meal - Edit
Absolutely great food, had the mushroom burger, spicy cucumber salad, green curry and a pad thai, the last one was fairly ordinary but the rest was brilliant. And it's so ruddy cheap, we had a few scoops of ice cream at the end and it came to less than 600 baht. And we are very greedy.

The burger is to die for! - Edit
We have been staying at the guest house above, and have eaten a few meals here. The garden dining area is a welcome relief from the heat and bustle of the nearby city streets, and the food is excellent. The burger is hands down the best I've ever eaten! Would definitely recommend this place.

One of the best in Chiang Mai. Love it. - Edit
Reform Kafe serves vegan menu from 11 am and it's great. As somebody mentioned before, their burgers are fantastic. The burger comes with pickles (yum!) on a large plate with fries, mayo dip and fresh greens on the side; very good value for 150 baht, and it's very enjoyable AND filling. Definitely try it. Khao Soi and Som Tam are also the best ever. The service is nice and they generally have a few English speaking people around. It's a good place, and I hope they keep the quality. The only negative experience we had there was when a bunch of Chinese tourists came, and turned the whole scene into uncouth uncivilized zoo, yelling an acting like they were the only people there. That ruined our lunch date, but every other time was quite wonderful, so we will go back again, just hoping for a better timing next time. They also have Wifi, and it's basically on the same property as the Green Tiger House (guesthouse).

As the title states- you should get the burger. Legit one of the best burgers I have personally EVER had! Also had the fresh spring rolls (really tasty and light) and the Khao soi (like a noodle laksa- also amazing flavours and delicious). If you have a chance to get here, absolutely do it. Wonderful food, and lovely staff.
