More than vegan food! - Edit
I went looking for soul food restaurants for my family and found my favorite restaurant that all of my family enjoys. The corn bread is my favorite but I haven't had anything that I haven't enjoyed. My son loves the cheese fries while my daughter says it's the best chicken sandwich she ever had even though even she knows it's not chicken. Great food, great atmosphere, great people, great prices and food that feeds your soul!!

Fully plant-based restaurant serving southern food like BBQ jackfruit, mac and cheese, cornbread, coleslaw, etc. Very tasty vegan renditions of the classics! The staff were very friendly and they have a cute outdoor dining area as well. Check it out!

Best vegan Mac ever! - Edit
We have had the best southern comfort foods here! New establishment with wonderfully nice people! Went to a vegan place at same address 7 years ago and did not have a nice experience. We are in love with their vegan mac, cheese fries and their Chicago burger! Great prices for vegan food too!

This was my first time stopping here, and I'm glad I did. I got the "Soul Bowl" and a "kale salad", and it's hard to describe how yummy it is. I was just passing through on vacation, but if I lived nearby, this would definitely be a place I would frequently stop at. Give it a try, ypu won't be disappointed!

Took my mom, wife and friend there for lunch today & it was great. I hadn't been since the year they opened - their menu has really expanded! Mom and I had the shrimp po'boys and they were delicious (and the shrimp looked & chewed so much like real shrimp I actually checked to make sure everything is plant based... so I guess that's a warning for anyone weirded out by that.) We had the cheesecake with peanut butter drizzle & it was mouth watering good. Many great choices & all of the people were very nice. We recommend!

Read moreMy (vegan) husband and I ate here yesterday around lunch time. We asked for recommendations from the staff and ended up getting the chicken burger and what was like…a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw.
Both were SO good! I personally liked the chicken sandwich more. The batter that was used; the pepper and salt aspect was JUST perfect!
I am sad I didn’t get to try any desserts, but I’m sure those are also amazing!!

I loved my barbecue plate. It was fun to choose side dishes. Google navigation takes you close but you can find it on the far side of Boulevard plaza, under the billboard.

We didn't think we'd be able to get true Carolina BBQ now that we're vegan. But you can, right here! Who needs pulled pork when you can have BBQ pulled seitan (guessing that's what they used)? Mandatory accompanying coleslaw was excellent. As was the cornbread.

Tasty Vegan Soul Food - Hope this one sticks - Edit
this location has been at least 3 vegan restaurants in the last few years. This one was a slower roll out; the food is good (although I thought the other 2 incarnations were pretty good too), and they're open for lunch most weekdays and a little later toward the end of the week and weekend.
Read moreI've been probably once a week, and I find myself going back to the kale salad again and again. Their fried chikn is good, and the shrimp po boy was tasty too. I was a little underwhelmed by the "plates"; you're probably better off with a sandwich. It's nice that they support other local vegan businesses (taylor street, dee's) with their desserts. The selection rotates regularly.
My only wish is that they had a few more slightly healthy options. I know it's soul food. But the greens were not my favorite, which leaves only the kale salad. I try to frequent vegan restaurants and businesses whenever I can, but I do wish there were one additional salad option on the menu. Just some food for thought. Otherwise, go!

They are always nice and welcoming, plus you can order ahead on their app. They don’t always have the gf vegan crab cakes but if they do try them.

We just checked out of our hotel and were looking for some vegan restaurants. We found this place on Happy Cow and weren’t disappointed! I got the NC BBQ sandwich, kale salad, and vegan cheesecake with caramel. Absolutely amazing!

Made a special trip to this restaurant based on reviews and glad we did! Great menu, and the lovely young lady at the counter was so friendly and patient describing the items before we could decide. Nice outdoor patio. I had the Carolina BBQ plate with mac n cheese, plus sweet potato waffle fries. And sweet tea, cuz we're in the South! Portion was very large.
