Stuffed cabbage leaves - wow! - Edit
This place was unreal - so so tasty!! 😻 The stuffed cabbage leaves and also the smoked tofu pasta were to die for! Also a really lovely atmosphere with cute animal rights photos all over! Can’t wait to come back to Roma just to come here! 💜😬

Quality is not a Constant - Edit
I have eaten here twice. I have had some tremendously delicious food here. I have also had some disappointing food. There is more good than bad though, and I would still recommend this place to anyone I know.

Good pastas - Edit
We had the amatriciana (perfect) and the orecchiette alla mediterranea (nothing special, so I wouldn’t recommend it). The suppli was really good. I ordered escarola as well and it was delicious and a huge portion.

Vegan cuisine. - Edit
If you eat here prepare to order 2-3 courses as the portion sizes are small.
Read moreThe food is excellent and there are a great variety of dishes. There has been a lot of thought and care put into the menu and recipes to create a true vegan cuisine experience.

Very delicious, but portions rather on the smaller side. - Edit
We ordered the first pasta of the menu and it was absolutely delicious. Still the portions size is not too big. So you either come here when not very hungry or you order different courses.😄

Delicious meal worth the drive - Edit
We went to Ma Va for dinner on our last night. while it was a ways away from us it was well worth the drive. There are Lots of yummy-sounding dishes to choose from so go with friends so you can try it all. For antipasti we ordered the Polpette di Melanzane, for our first course we got the Mezze Maniche all'Amatriciana and Paccheri con pesto di Basilico e melanzane fritte, and for secondi we got the Polpette di Lenticchie al Marsala con Purè di Patate Rosse.
Read moreThe antipasti was good but not great. The balls had an unexciting texture and flavor but the 3 sauces were quite tasty. Both pasta dishes were well cooked and flavored. The only lacking aspect was the pesto pasta didn’t much sauce so it was a little dry and lacking in flavor for me because of that. The final dish was very savory and reminiscent of meatloaf and gravy with buttery potato purée. Akin to various German, French and American dishes I ate growing up so it was nostalgic in this way.
Pros: Good Atmosphere , Friendly Staff, Delicious Food

Disappointed after seeing the other reviews - Edit
I was really disappointed with this restaurant after seeing the other reviews, unfortunately I didn’t enjoy my visit so much.
Read moreThe good parts were the cute dog, the wine was good and the service was friendly.
The vegan suppli we ordered for starters was smaller and less tasty than the suppli we had in a much more central non-vegan restaurant.
We ordered carbonara after this which was covered in pepper, no other discernible flavours, the tofu ham was in microscopic slices.
We also ordered a side dish of chicory which we intended to eat with the pasta, maybe this was a miscommunication or cultural difference but this didn’t show up with the pasta, we assumed they had forgotten but when I mentioned it at the end of the meal they said it was coming next. We hadn’t ordered a second main (after seeing the prices!) so they served the side dish at the end of the meal on its own. It wasn’t really pleasant and I couldn’t finish it.
Pros: Dog, Friendly service , Wine was good
Cons: Expensive, Sorry but we just didn’t enjoy the food

Worth the Walk - Edit
We were on a tight timeline in Rome, but decided to walk to Ma Va for lunch. It was a nice way to escape the tourists and walk through a neighborhood for a bit of calm away from the major sites. The food and service was outstanding, and we enjoyed every bite! Beet carpaccio, pasta carbonara, and eggplant parmigiana were the standouts.

Best vegan creamy pasta I’ve ever had! - Edit
For first course we had the pistachio pasta, and the smoked tofu tomato pasta. Both were the nicest vegan pastas we’d ever eaten. The pistachio one was amazingly creamy! Our second courses and desserts were also very nice, though the first course portions were big enough without a second. The waiter and waitress were very attentive, particularly about my intolerances and made a real effort to speak English to us and be helpful. Wish I could revisit!

Squisito - Edit
Siamp rimasti impressionati dalla loro carbonara vegana con zucchine e tofu: sembrava esserci davvero dell'uovo. Fave e cicoria buone come quelle provate in Grecia e in Puglia. Gli spaghetti al ginger con lime e pinoli me li sognerò la notte. Il cane del ristorante, Musetto, ci teneva dolce compagnia.

Great menu. Many interesting offerings. Kind of small portions. Cute dog who walks around the restaurant, but he seems very old and like he needs some grooming. Nice animal protection images on walls.

Very poor - Edit
My sister and i had flagged this place for one of our evenings in rome based on positive reviews. We were impressed when we arrived. Nice open and spacious sesting, pictures of rescued animals on walls and vegan cookbooks. The waitresscwas also lovely. However, things went downhill from there. Both our main dishes were really salty, unpleasantly so. Neither of us finished them because of this. We chalked it up to a bad chef night and looked forwarded to sharing the carrot cake with saffron cream. This was the most bland, tasteless lump of sponge we’d ever tasted, with a weird, over sweet drizzle of orange stuff. It was honestly like something from a poor UK high street bakery. We had a mouthful each and left it.
Read moreAs for the dog in previous reviews, if it’s the same dog, we were both appalled at the state he was in. His coat was matted in clots that could easily have been cut off. He obviously had a skin condition and his eyes looked sore, red, and crusty. He came and sat by us, obviously used to making round of the tables but we both felt so sad for him. He enjoyed being gently scratched and having his face rubbed. He just didn’t look well cared for which cast another shadow over a very lack lustre experience. The night we had definitely doesn’t reflect reviews so far. I’d have given it one star if i could.
Pros: Venue, Waitress
Cons: Food, Poor dog
