Interesting... - Edit
Had a couple of meals here but it was a little weird. There was this strange vegan propaganda channel on which showed animal cruelty, I understand the point but I'm already vegan for a reason so it was just a bit weird. Also staff were a bit awkward sometimes. Food was pretty good, the noodles I had were nice, the burrito was okay and the smoothie bowls were good (would really benefit from some granola!) Probably wouldn't have gone back a second time if it wasn't literally next to our hotel. Not really anything special unfortunately

Hit and miss (but mostly hit) - Edit
The first time we visited, we ordered the Bánh mì Philly based on positive reviews we had read about it. We were expecting fresh, crispy Vietnamese bread like you typically get with a banh mi, but instead we got a small, flimsy hotdog bun. The toppings tasted nice enough but overall quite a disappointment. We were also given some tea which tasted slightly bitter but otherwise flavourless, although it was free of charge so can’t complain too much.
Read moreDespite our underwhelming initial experience, we did give this place a second chance and we’re glad we did. The second time, we ordered their pho which was really yummy—very fragrant and peppery. The waitress recommended the cauliflower tempura, saying it was a best-seller, and I can see why. It had great flavour and a lovely crunchy coating. The mayo dip it came with complimented it nicely.
I accidentally ordered a smoothie bowl thinking it was a drink, as it’s named ‘strawberry smoothie’ in the menu, but enjoyed it all the same. It was nice and fresh and tasted very ‘purely’ of strawberries. The other drinks we tried, juices and coffees, were OK but nothing special.
All in all, it’s a nice, simple restaurant with plenty of seating, good value food, and an ethical vegan ethos (although their ‘vegan’ celebrity wall is in dire need of an update). The menu is quite extensive so it makes sense that it could be a bit hit and miss, but the pho and cauli-tempura are safe bets!
Pros: Pho 🍜, Cauliflower tempura 🥦, Ethically vegan 💚
Cons: Hotdog bun ‘banh mi’ 🌭

Tasty food - Edit
Extensive menu with local & western dishes to choose from. We got a 4 in 1 combo of soul food: cauli wings, mac and cheese, potato salad and broccoli which was very good. We liked the cauli wings a lot so ordered a separate portion which came with a good dip. We also got some loving vegan noodles which were also good but not our favourite. Had a nice mix of people there & didn’t only cater to westerners.

Just loved this place. Simple, with great vegan food at a great price. I had the bibimbap, which was divine. I’ll definitely be back again. One thing I appreciate on Happy Cow is when people post pics of the actual menus, so here you are…

Western munchies - Edit
I loved this place as you have the option of traditional and western muchie type food. The combi 4 was my favourite. The wings and the mac n "cheese" just work. A little busy at times, but you always find a seat.

Great Vegan Food - Edit
I ate dinner at Loving Vegan twice during my stay in Da Nang. Both times ordered Vietnamese dishes and they were really delicious. I also tried the Cauliflower and the Mushrooms (more western style dishes) from the starters section of the menu and they were both tasty too. The service is good, the staff are friendly and meals come out fast. Would highly recommend, especially the Vietnamese dishes from the menu.

Decent but only if craving western food - Edit
Otherwise pretty mediocre. I gave the pizza a shot mainly out of interest and it wasn't great. Place was full of tourists and expats though, so if you're after some comfort food it's definitely the best option in the area.
