Nice special place - Edit
The staff was very kind and helping, the food was tasty and felt very authentic. The meal portion is small and won’t be enough for most hungry people.

Excellent - Edit
Very nice owners! I had a Set Menu and my husband tried the Burger. Both was really good. Homemade Kombucha was very refreshing. The Drinks came in iced Cups which was reeeally refreshing as well. They also sell some Stuff Like canned Mock Duck or Soy Chunks at the Store.

Average Brownie - Edit
I have to admit I didn't actually order a meal here as I didn't have time but stopped in for a quick sweet to take away. She only had brownies available which was a very small piece for 80 baht. Looking around, the meals are served on little silver trays and are extremely small, I'm not sure I would come back to try the food.

Very small portions - Edit
The portions here are extremely small. We asked what the set menu was and the lady replied saying it was "a curry, rice and veggies with tofu". We literally got a piece of tofu smaller than a cubicle centimeter. Just one tiny piece.
Read moreNext to that she was annoyingly up-selling her tea and the brownie that is normally part of the menu was finished. So we didn't get the brownie, but had to pay the same. Also, there was no free water, which is common in Lamai and on Koh Samui to get.
Afterwards, we went to get food, because the portion was so extremely small we left hungry.
Pros: Fully Vegan.
Cons: Tiny portions, Annoying upselling, "Lying" about the menu

Some people will never be satisfied, no matter what you do, this lovely lady cooks delicious food consistently,l am an average Male, with an average appetite, and l am always satisfied with the portions on the plate, what do you expect for baht!! I feel your comments are totally unfair if you wanted more then why not ask, there are other items to eat besides the menu such as delicious veggie sausages and burgers at only 20 baht apiece, l eat here regularly and can tell you that this lady is no lier,as for a annoying you for asking if you like to try tea, all l can say is that you must be a very picky person, you only need to see the reviews to see that you, thankfully are the tiny minority.

Interesting concept - Edit
The concept at Lamai Veggie is pretty interesting. There is no menu to choose from. Instead, every day the lovely owner cooks a set menu made out of 2 or 3 special dishes and steamed rice. The dishes are based on Thai traditional cuisine and there is always some mock meat available (sausages and little burgers, be aware it's all soy-based). The kombucha and the cakes are pretty good too.
Read morePersonally speaking, I think this place is a bit overrated especially when compared to other vegan places on the island. Still, the food is good and affordable so I still recommend it.

Owner is very nice and really explains everything.
Read moreThe vibe of the place is positive. It's also a shop of vegan meat subs, spices.
Had set menu - currry, steamed veggies, rice and salad and additionally sausage(20 baht) and "meat" slice(20 baht) - was very tasty, but portion could be bigger for this price.
Also had caramel slice and coconut cake - tasty, but overloaded with sugar and size definitely doesn't match the price - one tiny peace costs as much as whole set portion. 80 baht.
Kombucha was good too.

Love this place - Edit
Yum! The owner is this absolutely lovely woman who runs everything there. She gives you a cute little blessing card with a quote, kinda like a fortune cookie. The menu is an 80baht set meal with four dishes. These dishes change every day, and when I was there it was a papaya salad, rice mix, green curry and tofu veg stir fry. She also offers a home brewed kombucha. You can also add soy sausages and ham to your meal from a little self-serve station, each for 20baht so prices are incredibly reasonable. The place has a great vibe, really endearing, making it one of my favourite Thailand eats. I also had the caramel slice for dessert, which was sooo good!

If you stay awhile in Lamai and eat here more than once, it's impossible not to become friends with the restaurant's sole owner/ operator, Bee. The cute, cartoon bee on the sign out the front reflects her bright personality, buzzing energy, and perhaps the sting in her tail! Bee is an awesome, strong woman and I really appreciated all our chats.
Read moreShe runs the restaurant on her own so, yes, if you arrive and she's out the back cooking, you might wait a while to be served. Relax! You're on an island in Thailand, what's the hurry? If you're really hungry, grab yourself a bag of crunchy, sweet and sour, dried soya chunks with lime leaves from the counter as an appetiser. They're packaged to go along with a range of fake sausages and burgers made in house which pack a protein punch on long bus rides, so stock up if you're moving on. There's quite a range of other vegan grocery items. I bought a couple of Thai spice powders and pastes to take home as a reminder of my trip and meals eaten at Lamai Veggie.
I spent over a week in Lamai and lost count of the number of times I ate here. Every time I intended to try something cooked to order from the menu, particularly the papaya salad, but always ended up tempted by the daily set menu. Don't expect an all-you-can-eat buffet style - the image above of a customer serving herself could be misleading. A bowl of brown rice (which in Thailand is actually red/purple) with two dishes will be brought to your table. For 50 baht, I always found it a nicely filling lunch.
Any inconsistency in the opening hours could be because Bee cooks a load of extra food on the days when Thai Buddhists eat vegetarian (perhaps the 1st and 15th of the lunar calendar, like in Vietnam?) and then takes the following day off.
Looking forward to visiting again some day.
Pros: brown rice, healthy food

Yum! - Edit
Ate here today for the first time, had the set menu of vegetables and rice, salad and coconut soup. Wasn’t expecting much as it was the only option.. but when we tasted the food we were so surprised! Was really tasty and a lot cheaper than other places we have ate vegan food. All vegan, no msg! Had the kombucha tea as well as a snickers cake! Would eat there again! The owner was super super friendly and place was clean! She explained that she has a more diverse menu in high season, so if you visit Samui at this time you can expect a lot more options!

Simply beautiful. - Edit
This small establishment is lovely, we had the set lunch but I added a burger to mine as an extra. The burger was very tasty, the set was rice with a sweet and sour veg plus a curried noodle, all quite simple but very tasty. We split a coconut lime slice which was very sweet but good. The lovely woman that runs this place let us stand before a table and pick a bee card, a bit like a fortune cookie type message was on the back, all very nice. She also had Happy Cow stickers on display.
