Great for a treat dinner - Edit
My partner and I had a lovely meal here. It’s a treat to eat out at a place like this that has a fully vegan menu. Vibe in the restaurant is nice and chill and service was really good.
Read moreFood was good, not the best we’ve ever had and a bit fussy for us (small portions, expensive for what you get) but the presentation was amazing and we had an amazing bottle of Crasto Superior douro white wine!
For mains we had tofu Wellington (tasty, texture was a bit mushy and I wish there was more veg, but otherwise good) and seitan steak which was good but a little bit lacking in flavour.
Star of the show food wise was the mushroom starter - we got one between us to share but we wish we got one each!!
Pistachio tiramisu desert was tasty, stay away from the pana cotta, my partner really didn’t like it
Pros: Presentation of food, Mushroom starter, Nice vibe
Cons: Portion size , Lack of veg on main courses, Pana cotta wasn’t good

Great mushroom starter - Edit
Lunchmenu with three courses for €18,00. The starter with mushrooms was really delicious, the rice of the risotto was not really good (type of rice or cookingmethod?), but the different types of mushrooms were really tasteful. The linguini with pesto was nice but a bit boring. The apple crumble was good, although the icecream was a bit non descript.

Not cheap but worth every penny. This place rocked my (vegan) world. It’s very unassuming until you enter the building and then, one is in wonderland. The service is spectacular, the setting is absolutely beautiful and the food made me want to live in Porto. The kitchen ladies are like fairy godmothers I I made sure they knew that.

Very good but not quite perfect - Edit
This is an upscale restaurant in the ground floor of a hotel, with a separate street entrance but joined inside.
Read moreThe food is high quality and creative, and gives opportunity to try many Porto classics such as tripe stew. However it is not quite as I would expect for the price; the toffish was delicious but without enough seaweed to give a flavour to the full block of tofu, and the pistachio tiramisu closer to a (slightly dry) chocolate cake with pistachio cream.
There are two big negatives to me: one, not all wines are vegan (although those that are are clearly marked) and two, the hotel is *not* vegan, and the same kitchen cooks and provides meat containing breakfasts each day. This detracts somewhat from the vegan restaurant it becomes each evening.
Pros: Porto classics, High quality fresh food
Cons: Not all wines vegan, Restaurant shared with non vegan hotel

Holy Toledo! - Edit
My husband and I have been vegan more than 20 years and my children have been vegan since birth. We have eaten a LOT of vegan fare. This place is truly exceptional and we adored each and every plate - perhaps the best vegan meals ever. Flavors were exquisite and plates artfully and lovingly constructed with bursting delicious flavors. We had the tripe, pesto linguine, risotto, and beef Wellington. Our kids were just as thrilled as we were (ages 11 and 14). Desserts were to die for! Absolutely a must visit if you are in Porto💗💗💗

Vegan Tripe! - Edit
Jardineiro offers a unique blend of upscale dining with a laid-back atmosphere, boasting no strict dress code and a relaxed vibe. The spacious bar area provides an excellent spot for enjoying drinks and indulging in finger foods. The attentive staff went above and beyond, guiding me through the menu while I savored the bread, olives, and dips.
Read moreOpting for the Spicy Meat Tortilla with pico de gallo and sour cream was a delectable choice. The pastry boasted a delightful crispness, complementing the flavorsome meat perfectly enhanced by the pico and cream.
For the main course, I ventured into the realm of the unexpected with the Vegan Tripe Porto Style served with wild rice. Surprisingly satisfying, the dish offered a rich, earthy taste enveloped in a white bean stew, skillfully seasoned to perfection.
While the prices at Jardineiro may lean towards the higher end, particularly compared to other options in Porto, the exceptional experience and quality cuisine make it a worthwhile investment. I eagerly look forward to returning for another culinary adventure.

They offer two menus with depending on how many plates you order. The menu changes once a month and it is ok. You can drink as much water as you want, which I very much appreciate. Prices are also well-explained.

Cozy place, OK lunch - Edit
We went there with high expectations, but in the end, considering the price, it was just OK. We had the risotto, which was excellent, and the loin with porto wine reduction, which was quite bland. In our case, there was very little sauce and it was not very tasty. For dessert we had pistachio tiramisu and it was nice. Overall, it was a bit expensive for what we had (we went there during the weekend, I think there is a more affordable menu during weekdays for lunch).

Flavourful, inventive options - Edit
Went to this elegant vegan restaurant in Nov 2023 and the food and service were both excellent.
Read moreThe server was incredibly kind, described dishes, and even helped me with my Portuguese!
My partner and I started with the couvert (breads made with various vegetables, some olives, and mushroom purée). The breads were delicious and the purée was very nice.
We then had the beet carpaccio which was beautiful and equally as delicious! Probably my favourite thing we got.
Then I had the Tofu Wellington and she had the Loin. Both were tasty in their own right, though I think the Wellington was more of a winner for us. The Loin texture was a little too reminiscent of meat, so we were a little thrown off by that.
We also tried a couple white wines (Guyon and…something.). Both were recommended by the server and excellent choices!
For dessert, we tried the chocolate garden and apple crumble. Both were very tasty. I probably enjoyed the garden more than the crumble since it was chocolate and the mousse was great with the tangy pearls on top as well. Still, the cinnamon ice cream with the apple crumble was wonderful, too.
Any vegans looking for a more romantic and elegant atmosphere, look no further.
Pros: Inventive options, Friendly staff, Elevated dining experience

Great but could have been excellent - Edit
This is a lovely vegan high end restaurant. The place is amazing inside and we had a nice welcome. The starters were incredible and the wine was top class. The mains were a slight disappointment as they were actually smaller and less tasty than the starters. We’d definitely go back but have a starter for main too!

Swanky grown up vegan food - Edit
We went without the kids and it was ideal. Fine dining, attentive staff and delicious food. They tried to up-sell us one of the starters by bringing it to our table which I wasn't a fan of but there was no issue when we politely declined.
Read moreI had the traditional "tripe" stew served with wild rice and if food could give you a cuddle then this was it. It was so wholesome and warm, I felt like I was eating autumn.
The portion sizes were all decent, the pistachio tiramasu was amazing! I usually don't like them as I don't like coffee but this one was light on coffee and heavy on cake so it was ideal.
For a fantastic dining experience this is the place to go.
Pros: Fully vegan, Amazing tasting food, Bilingual staff
Cons: Tried to upsell a starter by bringing to the table

High-end vegan dining experiences are rare and this place did not disappoint. They offer unique craft cocktails (one with spinach that was amazing) and beautifully plated dinners and starters. I had their wellington and my friend had the roasted "loin". We finished with the blueberry tiramisu. I highly recommend putting this stop on your vegan dining list when in Porto!
