Everything from soups to desserts are incredibly yummy. This is also our go-to place in town for eating with non-vegans. Its also often our bike ride destination where we can sit on the picturesque terrace and have a coffee and cake.

Small menu, hard to choose nonetheless, it all sounds so delicious. We had the home made oyster mushroom burger with kimchi. Very tasty indeed. It came with a great side salad. We had chocolate cake and tiramisu for dessert.

Super lekker gegeten, terecht dat dit één van de populairste plekjes in Mechelen is. Mijn vriend en ik namen als voorgerecht de lookbroodjes en kaaskroketjes, als hoofdgerecht de shoarma burger en als dessert de ferrero taart. Het personeel is ook héél vriendelijk! Ze zagen dat ik zwanger was en vroegen of ze met iets rekening moesten houden (groentjes goed wassen maar da's dan ook alleen het geval voor toxoplasmose negatieve mensen als ik).

I had the special ‘beef’ spring rolls which were really good. Main course was the ‘kapsalon’ salad. A healthy potato and ‘shawarma’ dish. As a desert I had the tiramisu which was superb.

Some of the best food I've ever eaten. Amazing options with and without replacement meat. Wonderful for those who like to be a little indulgent from time to time. The tiramisu was just divine. All of this right next to Mechelen's beautiful cathedral. Could not be better!

Possibly the best vegan restaurant in Europe - Edit
The location is amazing, right in front of a cool gothic cathedral, the staff is super friendly, the service is quick, the prices are very attractive (an 8 euro starter could pass for a 20 euro full meal in some other place). The interior is cozy, fit for a date night as well as for a dinner with friends. But the main thing that I want to point out is, obviously, the food. It's just delicious, indulgent, beautiful and leaves happy memories in your head. One of the highlights of the day was the "bacon" quiche. So so good. If you're in Mechelen, you HAVE to go to Funky Jungle.

Read moreAls hapje hadden we lookbroodjes en kaaskroketjes. De kaaskroketjes hadden volgens mijn gezelschap een meer uitgesproken smaak mogen hebben. Ik vond de lookbroodjes ietswat naar de droge kant maar beiden wel lekker.
Als hoofdgerecht aten we de humhumburger en de funky deluxe burger. Beiden heel lekker met een heel lekker gevarieerd slaatje. Beiden hadden we een lichte voorkeur voor de humhum burger! 😊

I have been coming here for a few years now and Marjan keeps on turning really yummy dishes at the menu. While I always found the quality good, I think they keep on improving as Marjan also keeps on following vegan cooking classes for chefs.
I really like their chilli sin carne which is on the menu sometimes as a suggestion. Also like their vegan kapsalon. But their burgers are also very nice. And she makes also very great soup! And the tiramisu is like the best vegan tiramisu I ever ate

Supervriendelijk, zelfs wanneer we, door omstandigheden, 10 minuten voor sluiting keuken aankwamen. We deden wel ons best om snel te bestellen: kaaskroketten als voorgerecht (jummie!) en kapsalon/Finky Deluxe burger als hoofdgerecht (ook heel lekker!).

From a good old burger to shepherd's pie, pasta carbonara or pad thai, ... Or desserts like a frisco (ice cream on a stick), apple pie, chocolate mousse, cheesecake, ... I really enjoyed every single dish or meal we had here!

The restaurant is not that big, so make sure you make a reservation. Situated in the heart of the historic city of Mechelen. Or have some take away in reusable RedUse-bowls if you like. The staff is super-friendly, which makes the whole experience just perfect!

Kleurrijke bordjes en sympathieke bediening - Edit
Mijn man en ik gaan hier heel vaak eten. De menukaart bevat allemaal hippe gerechtjes en een ruim assortiment aan cocktails. Vooral de burgers zijn bijzonder smakelijk en kleurrijk en overheerlijk als je er de gebakken aardappeltjes bijneemt. Daarnaast zijn er nog enkele smakelijke salades (probeer de kaaskroketten!) en wat streetfood gerechten met daarbovenop iedere keer een hoofdgerecht- en soepsuggestie van de week (dag?). Vergeet niet als afsluiter de overheerlijke tiramisu te nemen. De porties zijn groot dus met honger zal je niet snel naar huis gaan. Het beste van al is echter de bediening: iedereen daar bedient je met een welgemeende glimlach en deze mensen koken gewoon vanuit hun hart en dat proef je. Binnen kan het soms weleens druk worden, dus als het goed weer is, neem dan een tafeltje buiten, langsheen de Sint-Romboutskathedraal. Reserveren is aangeraden in het weekend. Je kan ook afhalen. Ook mijn man, een alleseter, is een fan!
