The Answer to My Vegan Breakfast Dreams! - Edit
I have been in Budapest for a few days now and it has been incredibly difficult to find breakfast options when I need them (I am on a course and many of the vegan friendly places do not open in time). I have therefore stocked up on a number of goodies to see me through the next two mornings!
Read moreThe menu is in Hungarian, but the lady described what everything was to me - I also received recommendations from a local customer who was very helpful! There are a number of traditional Hungarian pastries to choose from, so it’s fantastic if you want to feel like you have experienced some authentic food. The products are also remarkably cheap, so you don’t have to limit yourself to just one!
Pros: Huge variety , Sweet and savoury options , Budget friendly
Cons: No indoor seating - take away only

Hidden Gem of Vegan Baking in Budapest! - Edit
So chuffed that we found this cute, little COMPLETELY VEGAN bakery! We stopped here for some goodies before going to the bus station and the food was actually immense! From the cinnamon and chocolate “snail” swirl to the original Asian recipe for spring roll, to the spicy bean pastry, it was all so so good! The little chocolate protein slice was a little bit underwhelming but would still 100% recommend this bakery!

Dear HanshHapus,
Read morethank you very much for your review. Just a couple of things: the chocolate-cacao snail has no cinnamon (we do prepare a cinnamon snail for limited periods only) and we do not sell protein slices. You are certainly talking about Sport szelet (Sport slice) which is the baked version of a Hungarian chocolate and it's like a chocolate brownie. Sorry you didn't like it much.

Amazing selection of vegan pastries - Edit
We visited one morning for breakfast and merrily worked our way through a considerable amount of different pastries. I was really looking forward to trying all the Hungarian style pastries and was not disappointed - we kept going back to the counter for more!
Read moreMy favourite was the apple slice, but the savoury turtle shaped pastries were also very good, as was the coffee.
When we visited, there wasn't seating outside (it's just a small booth type outlet) but the chap said that they would be putting some out within the next month or so. There were some benches though and we were happy to sit there and munch our way through our choices.
I'd love to go back here and work my way through EVERYTHING they have!
Pros: Wide range of vegan pastries, Nice coffee
Cons: No seating at time of writing (March 2019)

Big selection of vegan pastry! - Edit
A very unique little vegan spot but great selection of vegan pastry and I love the way they "veganised" many traditional Hungary pastry. They also offer some "healthier" options. The different flavors of the Hungarian Pogacsa is a must try ;)

Dear sofiell, thank you for your review. Just a little clarification: we do not make puddings. The one you are talking about was probably the one prepared by our friends at Tökmag (https://www.tokmagvegan.hu/en/).

Favourite breakfast spot - Edit
we've come to Budapest for 3 nights and ended up having breakfast here every single morning (and it was an hour walk from our hotel). We love all the options, so much to choose from, savoury and sweet! My favourite was a little zucchini square and the chocolate swirl. My boyfriend loved the pizza slice and the spring roll, and the chocolate moon and the mushroom ravioli (you see where this is going). The sevice was amazing, the lady explained everything to us as there are no signs in English. She also gave us a list of vegan places to eat in Budapest once she found out we were vegan. Fill Good doesn't do iced coffee so they don't mind if you get that next door and have that with your breakfast! Highly recommended!

Vegan Bakery - Edit
Fill Good is a FULLY VEGAN bakery. They're small, but considering the size of the bakery they have quite a few different products.
Read moreI was more in the mood for something sweet and since they didn't have cinnamon buns I ordered the chocolate and the apricot one, and the apricot one in particular was so delicious!
My partner wanted something savory and was satisfied with his pizza as well.
The owner was very friendly and open.
Pros: Very tasty, Fully vegan
Cons: Small, no seating

Traditional and Reformed Hungarian Baked Goods - Edit
I had the most amazing "Kakaós csiga" ("Cocoa snail") here. The taste was just like the one I remembered from my childhood, but of course, in a vegan version. The assistant was very kind, the coffee was super-delicious. They have a fundraising pot by the shop for a vegan animal rescue charity. When I asked if everything was vegan in the shop, they responded: "we don't harm animals". Highly recommended.

Carbs are good - Edit
One of the things I hated to give up when going vegan was pastries. Even when it's not that great I will still eat it because it's such a rare thing. But there's no settling for sub par pastries here. The pastries are light, delicate and with just the right amount of sweetness and filling. We got a whole wheat chocolate and a walnut apricot pastry wheel along with some savory biscuits/scones and a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread. It was all delicious. My partner ate the scones before I could even take a picture of them. Worth the walk to get your hands on such delicious carbs.

Vegan bakery! - Edit
I know that Budapest has many veg options at this point, but I am always a sucker for a vegan bakery!
Read moreI got two of the rolls... they were definitely on the sweet side, but assuming you like that, I doubt non-vegans would notice that they are vegan.
I was not blown away by them, I have to admit, and the selection seemed a bit limited when I stopped by. However, I would likely be a regular customer if I lived in Budapest -- for one thing, it is a small place, and I may have gone at an off time (which probably also affected my mood -- it was pouring! and unfortunately it was not possible to eat inside, I guess). The price was very reasonable by local standards, I think, for city center -- about 250, I think, per roll?
The guy was very nice, and they take credit cards.
Pros: Good texture, Reasonably priced, Friendly
Cons: Items I had were a bit sweet for me, More selection is always nice!

Must visit - Edit
Wide and renewable selection of handmade, cruelty free bakery products. Why poison yourself with the hyped up bakerys products? Special and delicious goods are waiting for you here, where they love animals, the coffee is fair trade and the service is excellent. On the plus side you can support an animal protection association.

okay - Edit
I went here twice, sadly for me there are only 3 gluten free options. The ones that I ate were very tasty and I enjoyed them. My first visit the man who served me was a bit short but I thought nothing of it. Next visit the same man was incredibly rude to me and made me regret buying food from there. I’m a sucker for some good customer service though!

Dear Ruby,
Read moreI am one of the owners and the man who served you. I am very sorry about your bad experience.
The last couple of days were a bit stressful here; we had some issues at work (now fortunately solved). I was short, that's true, but I don't feel like I was "incredibly rude". Just not as nice and smiling as usual. (As you can see we only had positive feedbacks about the service so far.)
Once again: I am sorry you had a bad experience; but glad you liked our products. :)
Have a nice day!
