Loud and food was not good - Edit
Went Sunday in the evening, I thought it was a restaurant but it was more like a bar. People were screaming and talking loud, as well as the music.
Read moreOrdered the bish and chips but the fish was very oily, no taste. The chips were ok. There was a sauce that I could not identify what it was but it wasn’t the mayo that was on the menu. And the smash peas that was tasteless.

Brilliant Roast dinner. - Edit
Had an amazing Kentucky-themed chicken roast with mash, roast pots, kale, carrots, red cabbage & what I think was meant to be a Yorkshire pudding. Would 5 got ⭐️ but could have done with roasties and gravy.

Go for the Sunday roast - Edit
After visiting a couple of times previously, we went in for the Sunday roast. It was banging. A proper roast dinner, just vegan. A filling portion that tasted absolutely amazing- I had the jack mcguinness and it was so rich and had a wonderful texture, along with proper roasties, stuffing, mash, and a fair bit of veg too. Already excited to go for another Sunday visit.

The best vegan wings - Edit
I love the food here, the vegan mac and cheese is some of the best I've ever had, and the "wings" which I had Korean bbq flavour for are literally some of the best things I've ever eaten. I definitely reccomend. The pub has a great ambience and they're super friendly there, I managed to loose my purse here before and they were super helpful in finding and returning it to me :)

Ba-ha at cuban embassy is BOMB - Edit
Went to try the new menu at the cuban embassy in Moseley and it was SO good! Haven’t had Mexican street corn since going vegan so was extremely pleased to see (and eat) it, cheese on nachos was divine, birria tacos were insane, and tres leches cake was incredible. Will definitely go back! Dogs allowed outside only but weather was nice so no complaints

Tried these guys at Vegan Camp Out, one of my faves from the festival! I had the mac n' cheese which was lush and my boyfriend had a brisket sub which was delicious! Wish I lived closer!

Amazing Sunday Lunch - Edit
I've only ever tried the Sunday roast which is worth 5 stars by itself. Rest of the menu is pretty standard burgers etc, shame as it used to have a bit more variety. Worth it just for the roast on a Sunday though!

Tasty with gluten free options - Edit
Great food with plenty of options and everything's vegan. More of a pub than restaurant vibe (football on giant TV screens). The food was nice but a little oily in my opinion.

Good vibes - Edit
Nice place, the Sunday roast was decent - we enjoyed the nut roast and braised Jackfruit, but the veg was a bit limited we would’ve preferred some greens on there and some turnip. They served it with fried red cabbage and we could taste the oil on it. Add more steamed veggies and it would be spot on. Loved that they made the effort to add a Yorkshire pudding on the dinner.

Cons: Music was very loud , Not enough veg on the Sunday roast

Tasty vegan food in a fun pub - Edit
I had Mac and cheese with chick'n bits and onion rings. There were so many options on the menu - burgers, Mac and cheese, lots of sides, and several dessert options too!
Read moreI really enjoyed my meal at the Rainbow. We had a long wait (they were very busy and had just taken an order for a large group) but it was worth it!
The pub was really busy and had a really good vibe. It felt very welcoming and open, and we got a good seat in a cosy booth. Would recommend!

Great food - Edit
Well priced vegan food. I only got the Mac&cheese with kentucky strips but it was a good portion and the kenticky strips made from shrooms were nice and crispy. The mac was also one of the best vegan ones out there, tasted exactly like a non-vegan one. I'll definitely be back to try out the rest of the food 😋

High quality vegan “junkfood” - Edit
This is one of the best vegan restaurants in Birmingham by far. The food is amazing and not just typical burger and fries although their burgers are so unique and far from the standard beyond or moving mountain pattys. They have a variety of mains, deserts and sides that are amazing, I even had a beef brisket. I can’t wait till they have their own premises as at the moment the operate from the rainbow pub which is great, but on a friday, saturday can be busy for drinks. Overall amazing food and owners.

Really wanted to love it, but it fell short - Edit
Nice pub, good pint. Staff were nice but the long haired bloke seemed a bit stand off-ish. The Mrs had 3 small plates and I had the Brisk’t stew.
Read moreThe 3 small plates my wife had were wings, koftas and bish tacos. She ordered the wings as oyster mushroom but they came out cauliflower, no biggie. But the koftas were the driest thing I think I’ve eaten. Not a lot of taste in them. She had one and left the rest. The tacos were pretty bland too. She was hungry so she ate what she could.
The Brisk’t stew although lovely presentation, wasn’t all that at all. I was so excited to try this but it just kind of tasted and felt like an upside down Shepard’s pie. The ‘brisk’t’ was lost in the mix and had no texture. Such a shame.
I was so looking forward to loving it here. But it just didn’t hit the mark for me after eating at some good spots in Birmingham.
As this is based in a non vegan pub I’m also surprised happy cow allows this to be classed as fully vegan..
Pros: Fully vegan food menu
Cons: Food lacked execution and care, Non-vegan pub (drinks include egg and honey)

Loud pub, big vegan menu - Edit
In The Rainbow pub which plays its music very loud! First visit in March 2022 the food wasn't great, it was burnt and too spicy, but was better on Oct 2022 visit. Had the Sunday roast and it was very tasty, was nice to have the choice from three different ones. But we didn't have enough gravy, and there wasn't much of the actual "meat". Mac and cheese was nice, but the small portion was not worth £7. They do a bottomless brunch on Sat and Sun.

friendly staff but we did wait over half an hour for our food and one ingredient wasn’t available so I changed my main order. food didn’t all arrive at the same time. dough balls were nice but not as garlicky as expected. the parmesan chickn was nice. sticky toffee pudding was great too, really good portion size.
