Decent but entirely unexceptional

The service was good and the location was fine. The food disappointed. We ordered the soup de jour, (corn) and it tasted canned. The burger was good but the burrito salad was poor. I would not recommend to someone who wanted to enjoy the taste of their food or expected to appreciate fine vegan food. This restaurant caters to those who want imitation Western-style food with a vegan flair. The deserts were mediocre.

Overrated, expensive

Ain Soph Journey is situated more or less between meat/burger & grill places make sure you can get in so you aren't overwhelmed with rank, disgusting billows of burning flesh smoke pumped out into the streets (that's not an exaggeration). Strange location for a vegan restaurant. When I got there they said they were full and asked me to take a ticket from the outside machine - basically an automated waiting list. That didn't work. After waiting a while grinding my teeth from the overwhelming stench of death from the adjacent restaurants I went in to ask when I might be notified. Then they said never mind, come in, and invited me to sit upstairs where there were about 5 free tables plus seats at a communal table. So, I waited outside...why? The staff were pleasant enough, but the whole waiting-seating thing was weird. Ordered the salad lunch which I hoped would be substantive, but really it wasn't. It was about $15 for a salad, a tiny cold mock-meatball, and a scoop of rice. Note apparently the sides/offerings change. Really nothing to write home about - I could have made this at home for $2. When I went to pay they stated they would only take a credit card for 3kYen or more. So caveat emptor - come with cash (that's always good practice in Tokyo anyway) which fortunately I had. Just another really dull vegan/vegetarian place.

Average, good matcha tiramisu

Dinner I had there wasn't really standing out, the matcha tiramisu desert was good. I would not recommend to come to this restaurant alone, the staff refused to seat me once although there was plenty of space and I was willing to wait for a smaller table. They just sent me away in a not really polite way.

Pros: tasty desert

Cons: customer service

Waited 3 hours to tell us they're closed

Planned my day around going here for dinner and showed up at 6pm, read the sign on the door and waited. They were preparing and cleaning inside, and waited until 6:20 with us waiting outside for them to change the entire sign outside form their normal holiday schedule to suddenly being closed from today until January 4th.
